The Bible shares the words of Jesus in the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.  Jesus’ only words outside the Gospels are found in Acts 20:35 when Paul recounts the Lord saying, “It is better to give than to receive.”

Giving brings a freedom and engagement with it because it demonstrates love for God and others.  We invite you to give generously from the blessings of God in your life.  Your money, time, and talents are integral parts of the local ministry at Advent.

​Are you a Thrivent Member?  

The Thrivent Choice program encourages benefit members to recommend where Thrivent Financial distributes an amount of its charitable grant funds.  Members make this recommendation by directing Choice Dollars to enrolled nonprofit organizations such as Advent.

KING SOOPERS REWARD PROGRAM

The rewards program has made a change. You will no longer need to reload your gift card after March 31, 2019. All you need to do is swipe your King Soopers card or put in your linked phone number at checkout and gas pumps. You can use your loaded funds on your gift card until empty but any funds loaded after 3/31/2019 will no longer be credited to Advent.

AS ALWAYS, this program costs you nothing to contribute!

YOU MUST go into your online King Soopers Card account and add Advent to your community rewards selection. This is how you do it!

  1. Go to www.kingsoopers.com and sign into your account, if you don’t have one, you need to sign up for one.
  2. Next, select the Savings & Rewards tab and scroll to the community rewards programs. Select Enroll Now 
  3. In search bar, type in Advent Lutheran Church, select and now you are enrolled.
  4. Now you will see a confirmation that Advent Lutheran Church is your contribution account.

The Stewardship Committee helps to further the Mission of Advent: “So all many know Christ’s love” by
providing the major fundraising campaign for operational funding of our congregational mission
activities. Our work provides a structured annual appeal, ingathering, and ongoing awareness of the
congregation’s funding needs to ensure our members and guests know the status of the target needs,
funding income, and how it is used in a top-level view.
We do this by:

  • Developing an overall theme and goals for fundraising each year

  • Conducting the annual appeal and ingathering of commitments

  • Providing thank-yous and periodic stewardship impact reports to the congregation

  • Developing ministry initiative areas for emphasizing increased needs for the future

  • Providing estimates of giving to Council for budget planning purposes
     

By fulfilling our mission we support the other ministries at Advent so they can accomplish their missions
without concern for raising funds to support their activities.
