Advent’s ‘Green Team’ recycling program is a congregation-led ministry focused on reducing waste, managing waste collection, and promoting earth stewardship. This program pairs recycling bins next to every trash can, will host special collection drives for hard-to-recycle items like Styrofoam or electronics, and provide educational resources for members.

Core Activities:

• Facility Collection: Placing side-by-side recycling and waste bins for paper bulletins, cardboard, and beverage containers.
• Special Drives: Hosting periodic drop-off events for electronics, textiles, or foam densification.
• Community Resources: Creating local reuse and unusual recycling directories for items local haulers do not accept.
• Education: Sharing creation-care tips in weekly bulletins and newsletters.

RECYCLING PROJECT FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

​Recycle your old, empty prescription bottles. The Green Team is collecting these bottles that are not recyclable in the household recycle bins through the end of August. Be sure to remove or blacken out the prescription label information and then put them into the small bin on the side counter in the narthex (where sign-up sheets are located). in September,the Green Team will be collecting wine bottle corks.
